Hello there,

I am Dina Chamberlain. I am the oldest, very well rooted tree in our PHS forest. I have been working for 25 years in the fields of counseling and psychology.

I am an ordained minister of religion in a Christian church and a registered psychologist/counsellor. I am also a registered disabled person. I grew up in the capital of South Africa — Pretoria. I studied at the University of Pretoria and spent the first fifteen years of my career as a chaplain in the South African National Defense Force. There I worked in various divisions of the medical services and served in the Hospice, the psychiatry unit, rehabilitation units, the Intensive care unit, and the Accident and Emergency unit. For a long time, I was the trauma chaplain on call.

I relocated to Hong Kong in 2006. I started my Hong Kong counselling career at Resource the Counselling Centre, and I founded a private practice in 2009. I have been serving in the Methodist International Church Hong Kong as a part-time associate pastor since 2007. I supervise students in their internship for Master of Counselling, as well as qualified psychologists or counsellors.

I started using online platforms for counselling in 2012 when I wanted to travel for an extended period to visit my parents. By 2016, a big percentage of my clients were international clients and I found that I enjoyed working online. I started to move most of my practice online, and this year, with Covid-19, took the final steps. I found I enjoyed the freedom an online platform brings and, as a disabled person, working from home is much more comfortable.

I offer a 30-minute free chemistry meeting. Please note that a chemistry meeting is not a counselling meeting; it is to help you decide whether you can work with me. If you would like to meet me for a chemistry meeting and to talk about the possibility of counselling, please click here
